Going in to the office every day does not have to be mundane or boring

Most people in the world go to work and sit behind a desk. They take home a paycheck they never feel is big enough, go in earlier than what they want, and leave later than what they think they should, but there is always more work than there are hours in a day. That certainly doesn’t mean more dollar signs in the paycheck, though. This can leave some people feeling disconcerted or downhearted about their employment, maybe even growing bored with it. You can certainly find fun in everyday activities and have a fulfilling career that you actually enjoy waking up to go to every morning.

First of all, asking your boss or manager if you have to come in to the office every day would be a start. Maybe you can do your meetings and projects over the phone and keep everyone abreast of your target and progress via Conference calls. That would be the best way to keep the lines of communication open while not having to actually be face to face. Scientific studies have proven that people who are allowed to telecommute at least once a week are more likely to stay at their jobs longer and with more productive output and profit making for the company.

With most business models, you are working from your computer and phone line that are attached to your desk. If those can somehow come with you, there is no reason for you to be attached to your desk. Using a personal phone, or if your company provides you with a cellular even better, but you can always take your computer home with you, or procure a loaner laptop for a telecommuting day. Audio conferencing is no different than conducting your meetings in person other than the people you are around cannot see you messing with your tie and staring at your shoes, or not see you at home not wearing a tie or shoes.

With the right software and equipment, you can even share computer images and files from different rooms in different countries all while being on an Audio conferencing call discussing important things regarding your participation in a specific project. Being in the room adds nothing to the information being given or received, and is merely a formality that is becoming less and less commonplace in most businesses across the globe.

More and more emphasis is being put on the employees well-being, with massages being given at desks, bring your pet or child to work days, more days off being awarded, and bigger and better incentives for recognitions are being given. Asking for the opportunity to work from home and get out of the office environment is one of the best things you can do to improve your performance and keep your mind fresh and ready to work diligently and effectively. Saying yes to that request is one of the best things an employer, manager, or boss can do to keep happy staff who actually like coming back to work after what has been a very short working vacation.
